Some Fitness Updates

I wanted to share a few fitness-related items with everyone today:
  • I got my replacement pedometer in the mail today. I am now able to log steps and earn rewards again. While doing the laundry two weeks ago, I heard a strange clunking in the dryer. Try as I might, I was unable to figure out what the clunking was. I found my pedometer when I was taking out the clothes. It "worked", but I could not download steps. So, I ordered a new one.
  • I ran 12 miles last week on Friday. I am still behind on my training for the marathon. I don't want to push my body too much, but my long runs will need to get longer a little quicker than I would like. If anything, I need to see if it's reasonable to still think I can do this. Being in Naperville for school for three weeks made running difficult.
  • Tonight is the second week of playoffs for our church softball team. We have a game at 7:00PM against the one team that beat us during the regular season. If we beat them, we play in the championship at 9:00PM!

Tabor Church Softball Update

With last night's victory over Hope Lutheran Church, 13-1, the Tabor softball team is now 6-0 with three games left. I continue to be impressed with the sportsmanship of all teams in the league. It is great to see everyone who wants to play gets the chance. Everyone is contributing and working together well as a team.

The team also attracts quite the crowd of church members, so it is a great ministry opportunity. It's nice to meet people outside of the church. It lets them know that I have a life outside of the church, and it provides a more relaxed place to talk.

I am saddened that I will miss the last two games of the season. I should, however, be back in time for the playoffs. ;)

Church Softball Update

On a pleasantly warm evening, the Tabor Softball Team took the field at Woodworth Field in Fond du Lac. Putting their perfect season, at 1-0, on the line, they were victorious over Church of Our Savior. The final score of the game was 11-7.

Pastor Jim went 2-3 with two RBIs (don't ask about the blown play in right field...he doesn't know anything). Overall, the game was close and exciting. I would again like to reiterate how much fun it is to play on this team. I appreciate that everyone from the church who wants to play and shows up gets an opportunity to play in the field and to get to bat. Al does an excellent job as manager.

The team looks forward to a week off for Memorial Day before getting back onto the field. Go Tabor!

Tabor Co-Ed Softball Team

Tonight is the first game for the Tabor United Methodist Church co-ed softball team. The team plays at 7:00PM tonight at the Evans Elementary School in Fond du Lac. I am excited for the opportunity to be able to participate as a part of the team. We'll see if they still want me to be on the team after I play tonight ;).

Last year, this team went undefeated in the regular season. I am excited to see this team in action. Look for a full schedule of the team of the Tabor Church page of our website.
