Kicking It Up a Notch

This morning, I completed a 10 mile run. Now that I have sat down in front of the computer to get some internet-related work done, I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to get up! :-) I am definitely sore, but not as tired as I have been for some of my longer runs.

If I were training for the half marathon, I would max out at a 10 mile run in anticipation for the 13.1 mile race. What made this morning's run a little bit more difficult is that this run is no longer an end...it is just the beginning.

I have decided to run the Fox Cities Marathon!

So, as the weeks go by, my "long" run will be getting longer and longer. It will go up by one mile each week until two weeks before the race. This means that starting next week, training runs will be breaking new ground.

I am excited for the next three weeks, I will get to do some running in a completely new environment as I will be in Naperville, IL.

I have wanted to run a marathon since I was in high school. I hope to accomplish this goal. Along the this goal, I appreciate the health benefits, as I have lost weight and feel better about myself.
